Franz Bratiska was a young and adventurous artist living in the 18th century. He was born in a small Austrian town, but his roots extended to Bratislava, a Slovak city (which was then known as Pressburg or Prešporok). His real name was František Bratislavský, but when he set out on his traveling adventures, he decided to use a new artistic name - Franz Bratiska - as a combination of the words Bratislava and love in the Slovak language. In most countries he visited, it became customary to call him by similar names, such as Franz in Austria, Franta in the Czech lands, and so on.
His first stop was Florence, where he had the opportunity to paint under the guidance of a renowned artist and refine his skills. After many years of traveling and meeting different people, Franz decided that he wanted to share his talent not only on canvases but in other forms as well.
After leaving Florence, he continued traveling through Europe. In Venice, he spent several months and fell in love with its beautiful canals and architecture. He decided to create a series of paintings capturing the unique atmosphere of this city. His artistic talent quickly gained recognition, and his paintings became highly sought after in Venice.
Later, he decided to establish the Bratiska brand, which specialized in personalized products for various cities, locations, and neighborhoods. Franz Bratiska traveled to different cities, including Bratislava, where he met with local residents, listened to their stories, and created unique items for them. In Paris, they produced jewelry inspired by the Eiffel Tower, in Rome, he created original souvenirs with Colosseum motifs, and in New York, he focused on making T-shirts with the names of famous streets.
His products were very popular because they captured the personality and culture of each place. Franz Bratiska became a famous artist and businessman, but his passion remained travel and creation. His brand has survived through generations and still produces original products that adorn homes worldwide, reminding people of the beauty of the cities, locations, and neighborhoods that Franz Bratiska once visited and loved. Bratislava, with its rich history and culture, remained a special place in his heart, one he always fondly remembered in his stories and artworks.
Even though Franz had great charisma and traveled a lot, he always remained faithful to his home, wife, and family. He loved his home just as much as the homes of all his customers, which he made beautiful with his products. To this day, he remains a great role model for the entire Bratiska brand and company.
